Gregor Cerar, PhD

Hi 🖐️! I’m Gregor (Greg for short). I’m a Research & Innovation Engineer at Comsensus and a Postdoc / Professional Research Fellow at Jožef Stefan Institute, working with SensorLab.

Most of my time, I work as a generalist Python developer. I write software for backend services, tools for interacting with hardware, and task automation. I occasionally work on AI tasks and deal with Linux, containers, Kubernetes and related tooling. I used to write embedded C and JavaScript, but now it’s mostly Python.

I’m into self-supervised learning, time-series analysis, and smart infrastructure. I hold a PhD in ICT, where I focused on wireless communication and AI.

Beyond work, I enjoy the quiet side of life. I like writing clean Python code, diving deep into research that interests me, and spending time outdoors hiking. I also enjoy playing chess and the classic “Uno!” card game.

Thanks for stopping by!
